By the way, do you know what schmuck actually means? In the original Yiddish? It refers to the foreskin (culturally unclean to Jewish folk, of course), or the glans of a penis.

My comment was blunt, but was still fairly polite. There's no need to overreact. "Schmuck" is a pretty derogatory term. It's not all that different from "motherfucker" or a host of other pejoratives.
And some really aren't into collecting. Seems extreme to call someone crazy and a "schmuck" because he happens to personally find more value in having fun with what is genuinely a toy rather than keeping it sealed away in the hopes of raising its value is rather rude and mean.
I have plenty of friends and family that do genuinely collect, even to such extremes. It's not for me, and it's obviously not for this guy.
